Three people have been injured in an explosion in Clay County this past Sunday. According to the Burning Springs Fire Chief, the explosion took place at a home on Roy Cox Road around 11:30 PM. The cause of the explosion is not yet known, yet it is suspected that a natural gas leak may have been the culprit. The investigation will reveal whether or not negligence played a role in this accident.

The home’s residents, a mother and her two children, were airlifted to UK Hospital with first and second-degree burns and broken bones. It took firefighters several hours to get the fire under control.
