According to the Kentucky State Police, truck collisions accounted for only 4% of all motor vehicle accidents, but 8% of all fatal collisions in 2012. While this number is still low compared to passenger vehicles, the statistic goes to show that truck accidents, though uncommon, run a higher risk of resulting in a fatal injury, proportionately.
